Now that we’re finally getting some Summer weather our clients are definitely enjoying the split tilt-rod feature on their shutters! A lot of our clients have East or West facing windows that get a lot of sun exposure. This leads to high in-door temperatures and the AC running all day. The split tilt-rod feature is great because you can block out the intense sun and control how much light is coming through your windows. The most popular split is a 30/70. The majority of our clients keep the top 30% of their louvers open at the top and have the bottom 70% closed at night and during mid day when the sun’s heat is intense. During the early morning and evening hours, the bottom louvers can be opened to enjoy the sun’s rays.
